The pleasure of cooking the authentic Paella
Enjoy the pleasure of the authentic Valencian paella as experienced by Valencians, in a typical country house surrounded by orange trees and rice fields.
The Chef will reveal in the class many myths, traditions, secrets, special techniques and some necessary tips for the preparation of this popular Spanish dish with an international recognition.
During the paella process, we will have a break to enjoy a drink and snack with typical products of the cultivated fields of Valencia.
After enjoying the paella we will follow with fruits from our cultivated fields and a homemade cake really appreciated by the Valencians “La coca de Llanda” with a sweet drink called “Mistela”.
At the end of the course, a certificate issued by our Chef, will qualify you as an ambassador of the Paella.
Boat trip on the Albufera Lake
After enjoying our gastronomy, we will complete the day with a boat trip on the "Albufera Lake" to get a close look of the magnificent landscapes of Valencia.
This is the largest lake in Spain and one of the most important wetland areas in the Iberian Peninsula. It is a place of great ecological interest in which unique species of waterbirds hibernate.

"Amazing paella cooking class! "
Rafael is a fantastic teacher! This was definitely the best paella I've ever eaten.
For this class, they picked us up right in front of our Airbnb around 11am and drove us ~30 minutes into the Valencia countryside to a farmhouse in the middle of an orange tree grove. We got a bit of an introduction to the property....
and the background of cooking, then Rafael took us through the steps of cooking paella (around an hour total). We got a snack break in the middle of cooking (an amazing Spanish omelette, cheese, sausage, olives) and then got to enjoy.... our paella with wine once it was done cooking. If you're vegetarian, let them know in advance because they can arrange to cook a vegetable-based paella instead of the traditional Valencian paella (chicken, rabbit, green beans and butter beans).
They were nice enough to drop us off (since it was just the two of us!) at the Arts and Science museum afterwards. The whole experience (including driving) was around 4 hours and I can't recommend it enough!
“Cooking the authentic paella”
At this wonderful nice place at a tiny country house - I learned to cook an original paella. Every step with the prepared ingredients we have been teached by the spanish cook to do ourself to go ahead untill to eat in the sun between orange trees and yellow flowers.

We toured the garden and the house, learned how to cook an authentic paella, ate several delicious appetizers, and of course, the delicious paella too! It was a well planned event and lots of fun! A big thanks to Vicky, Rafa and Pedro who made this event very enjoyable!

“The best part of my 10 days in Spain”
I simply loved this adventure. Personal driver escorted us out of the city and into the countryside.
A wonderful man and chef named Rafa taught us to cook Paella on an outdoor fire. While it simmered we ate tapas and drank delicious wine and Spanish beer.

“Traditional Paella Cooking Experience”
We booked the paella cooking class on the back end of a 10-day road trip through southeast Spain. We saved the best for last and it was well worth the wait! Spain is full of great eats no matter your location but Valencia is paella. Don’t be fooled, traditional paella is made with meat (rabbit, chicken, pork) not fish.

TripadvisorThe actual cooking location is 20-30 minutes outside the city center of Valencia, but you can get a bit of history and see the rice farms along the way. You will arrive in a small village, and the 'huerto' is quiet and intimate, depending on the number of guests in your group.
The staff was always pleasant and respectful. They clearly take pride in their work and appeal. Rafael (master paella) has a great sense of humor, and he enjoys when you take control of the cooking. He prefers to speak in Spanish and having a detailed conversation in English was a challenge, but did not take away from the experience. Rafael is very knowledgeable about the history of the land and traditional paella cooking.
Tapas and drinks are included with the experience, but don’t fill up on cheese and olives! The Spanish tortilla is amazing and we are still trying to determine the best cooking methods at home. On to the main attraction …. the paella. We are very happy that we waited to try the paella in Valencia. These guys know how to cook! When the dish is brought to the table, instinctively you think it is too much food for the group. But after the meal is over, you will find a clean paella dish before you. The variety of meats, combined with crisp veggies and fried rice, make for a wonderful meal. If we find ourselves in Valencia again, we would stop by to say hello and sharpen our cooking skills!
Complimentary beer and wine are offered throughout the meal .... but for those not drinking alcohol or those who can't, water was the only alternative offered to us that day. So plan accordingly if you would like something else refreshing with your paella dish.
“Paella Cooking Class”
My husband and I had a great time learning how to cook authentic Paella Valenciana. We took the class in January and even though we were the only ones who made a reservation, Rafa still took honoured our booking. The scenery at the orange orchard was very nice!.

Afterwards, Vicente toured us around the area and dropped us off near La Malvarosa. I booked directly through their website.

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience, the hosts are very friendly and have a great knowledge of the history of the dish and the stunning area.
The food is amazing but make sure you are hungry when you go as they feed you not just with a fabulous Paella...

“Great hosts, awesome and relaxing at the same time!”
We were picked up from our AirBnB and driven to the "casa de campo" which was nestled in between orange groves and rice fields. The two owners were totally cool, very friendly and welcoming. We got a tour of the house...

“A highlight of our trip in Spain”
Rafa was amazing and to be treated the way we were was such an honour. Going out of the city to his homestead and learning more about Spanish culture and of course how to make the best Paella was just so good.
